EU lawmakers have voted in favor of measures requiring banks to hold cryptocurrencies!

The European Parliament announced in a 24th January declaration that the committee voted overwhelmingly to amend its Capital Requirements Regulations and Directive applying to banks that hold crypto. According to a draft law, banks will be required to keep a “risk-weighted exposure amount” of up to 1,250% of capital depending on its exposure to crypto.

Blockchain development platform QuickNode has closed a $60 million funding round as part of a global expansion aimed at driving more users and developers to Web3 applications. The company announced on 24th January that QuickNode’s $800 million Series B raise was led by venture capital firm 10T Fund, with participation from Tiger Global, Seven Seven Six, and QED.

Major cryptocurrency exchange Binance has reportedly admitted that it mistakenly stored some customer funds in some wallets as collateral for some in-house tokens, Binance began the process of transferring the assets in question to dedicated parallel wallets.
